Harbor is a student project to design a phone app and website. They are designed to connect vetted refugees with safe homes. It’s designed to work with Canadian immigration policy where five or more Canadian citizens can host a refugee to come to Canada. Harbor provides educational services, how to provide for refugee families fanatically and emotionally as well as services to help ease the process. The apps main purpose is to connect Canadian citizens to other citizens who desire to host immigrants easing the process. The app also provides information on current crisis and where and why most of the immigrants are coming in. I chose the name Harbor because it can be defined as a refuge but also connects to the European refugee crisis where hundreds are dying off the coast of Europe in an effort to get to safety.
